Answered prayer- the power of the tongue

There are many people in the world who do not believe in the power of prayer. They say that God does not hear or answer their prayers. One of the greatest examples of heard and answered prayer in the Bible is found in Matthew 14, in the account of Jesus and Peter walking on the water. Verses 28-31 say: Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”  And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.  But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”  Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him.    No lengthy petition, just three short words “Lord, save me!” heard and answered immediately.     Unfortunately, one of the most frequently  prayed and answered prayers today, is also just three words. Probably millions of times a day, people around the world cry out: “God damn it!”  Then they are angry with Him when He answers and does.

Proverbs 18:21 says:  The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Why not ask God to bless the things in your life rather than damning them?
